1. Copy of employer’s financial proof.
2. Copy of income proof:
Latest tax return, or three-month salary slips, or three-month bank fixed deposit receipts.
3. Original and copy of address proof:
Recent (within three months)
– Rates bill, or
– Water bill, or
– Electricity bill, or
– Gas bill, or
– Fixed-line telephone bill (The Immigration Department generally does not accept bank statements or mobile phone bills).
4. If the employer lives in a government public housing estate, they need to apply for a temporary residence permit for the foreign domestic helper at the relevant Housing Department office of the estate. The application generally takes five to seven days.
5. If the proof documents presented are not in the applicant’s own name, other relationship proof documents must be provided to confirm the relationship, such as: copy of tenancy agreement, marriage certificate, or birth certificate, etc.
6. If the foreign domestic helper does not have their own room (can share a room with same-sex family members or children), the employer must provide a floor plan and photos of the sleeping area and the residence (must include the house number), and also write a letter explaining the sleeping arrangements for all household members. In general, if the accommodation address provided by the employer for the foreign domestic helper is different from the address in the contract, the Immigration Department will generally not approve it.
7. Clients also need to provide the names, ID card numbers, and birth dates of family members. If the client currently employs a foreign domestic helper, they also need to provide the current foreign domestic helper’s name, ID card number, and the contract termination date or visa expiration date.
