Long Service Payment

FDHs who have served for 5 years or more are required to pay LSP to the helper if:

  • dismissal or non-renewal of employment contract after expiry and dismissal or non-renewal is not the cause of summary dismissal or redundancy based on gross negligence.
  • A prescribed certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner or a registered Chinese medicine practitioner certifying that the helper is permanently unfit for his or her current job and resigning.
  • aged 65 or above and resigned due to old age; or in the event of death in the course of employment, the employer is required to pay the LSP to the helper.
    Calculation method: monthly salary X 2/3X seniority as stated in the contract.
